Hey guys, Jade here! No, I'm not coming back to deviantART. But I thought that the few of you who are still here might want to know about this. I'll be straight to the point: Withering Hope is being revamped so the characters aren't YouTubers anymore! Yes, it's a bit weird to start a revamp of a 5-year-old story this close to the end, but I feel like this development has been long overdue. For years, I have been very uncomfortable with YouTuber fanfiction. I believe this was a huge contributor to my writer's block. Those of you who have been keeping up with this story for a while can attest to the long, long hiatuses (some even lasting more than a year). I tried to power through, which is how a bunch of chapters was released in the past few months, but I reached a point where I felt little to no excitement with each update. Leaving dA
Wow I was actually just going to think about it, but literally as I was writing this journal I realized that my heart is already set on leaving. There are a number of reasons. Many people I originally watched on dA left the site a long time ago. I also rarely post anything on here; I don't make journals much anymore and I only post new WH chapters. I also feel like most of my watchers are either gone or are able to read WH on some other site. The friends I made on here are also gone, or on other sites. Eclipse has also made it extremely time-consuming to upload chapters because my chapters tend to be very long and I have to manually put spaces between each paragraph. In fact, many new Eclipse features have indicated that the site does not value literature anymore. Not only can you not filter search results based on literature, but there are no more genres to select. There's just... literature. All kinds of stories and poems and the like are now just mashed together because they're
